The theme this year is:

Beyond Visibility:

A Space of Our Own

Inspired by Virginia Woolf’s key feminist text, this year’s festival theme reaffirms our commitment to cultivating a new kind of film culture, modeled on solidarity,  liberation, and trans lived experience. Visibility alone is not enough: we need spaces that center, support, and sustain trans creators.

Our festival is not just about seeing ourselves on screen; it is about reclaiming agency over our narratives, our art, and our futures. By fostering a space where trans filmmakers can connect, share, and create on their own terms, we move beyond mere representation toward solidarity and liberation.

Montréal’s first trans film festival

EXPOSURES exists on the territories of the Kanien’kehá:ka Nation, who are the custodians of the land and waters of Tio’tia:ke (Montreal). Alongside this necessary but inadequate territorial recognition, we demand restitution and reparation for Indigenous peoples across all of “Canada”.
